Why Can’t I? Is a music video for a close friend of mine who goes by the artist name “RIEL”. Fun Fact, he actually was the one to push me to tap into the creative space and establish myself as a videographer.

This music video is inspired by 90s sitcoms such as Martin, with a twist. Accompanied by the lyrics of the track, the protagonist Riel, pleads his case to the love interest played by Danica Caballero, that he is not the typical “toxic man” that she is used to in her previous relationships.

The video follows through past and present moments through flashback transitions to Danica amidst arguing with her past boyfriend.

The couch and brown backdrop setting is a homage to those 90s comedic sitcoms, whilst presenting what a modern day relationship now looks like.

This video also has significance as it is the first project that follows through a series, I have been able to jumpstart with Commonhouse Studios’ co-owner Gerad called “You’ll Know The Name”, where we shed light on local creatives and give them a platform to share their different art modes.
